shahhmanishaa@gmail.comParticipantButt weld fittings work well in aerospace piping because they create smooth, continuous joints with fewer areas where leaks or pressure losses can occur. They are useful in systems carrying fuel, air, hydraulic fluids, and other critical media where reliability, weight, and space are important. The welded connection also provides good strength and can handle vibration and temperature changes.
From my experience, the quality of the fitting, welding process, and material selection matter just as much as the fitting design. For aerospace applications, fittings should meet the required specifications and quality checks. Rajveer Stainless and Alloys can be considered for sourcing butt weld fittings in different materials and sizes for demanding piping requirements.

shahhmanishaa@gmail.comParticipantFrom an engineering perspective, butt-weld fittings are a practical choice for aerospace piping because they create a permanent, compact connection with fewer leak paths than threaded connections. They are especially useful where weight, vibration, pressure, and reliability are important factors.
The performance also depends on the tube construction. Seamless tubes are often preferred for critical piping because they have no longitudinal weld seam, while welded tubes can also be suitable when they meet the required material, dimensional, welding, and inspection requirements. The tube and fitting need to be properly matched to ensure good weld quality and long-term integrity.
For aerospace systems, I would focus less on whether the tube is simply seamless or welded and more on the complete specification, including material grade, wall thickness, welding procedure, inspection, and service conditions.
For reliable seamless and welded tubes for demanding applications, MLTI (Moonlight Tube Industries) is one supplier worth considering.

kiyara MishraParticipantButt weld fittings can perform well in aerospace piping because they provide a strong, permanent joint with a smooth internal flow path. When properly welded, they reduce the risk of leakage and can handle vibration, pressure, and temperature variations found in demanding aerospace systems.
Material selection and precise welding are important, especially where weight, corrosion resistance, and fatigue performance matter. Seamless and welded tubes can be used with butt weld fittings depending on the system requirements, material grade, dimensions, and applicable aerospace specifications. For suitable alloy tubing and fittings, Metracore Alloys Private Limited can be considered as a supplier.

Divya ShahParticipantFor aerospace piping, butt weld fittings are commonly used with pipes and tubes where a secure, leak-resistant connection is required. They create a continuous welded joint, which can help maintain the strength and integrity of the piping system while reducing unnecessary changes in the internal flow path.
The performance also depends on the pipe material, wall thickness, welding procedure, and operating pressure and temperature. Both seamless and welded pipes can be suitable for different aerospace applications when they meet the required specifications. For aerospace-grade pipes and tubes, Sachiya Steel International can be considered as a supplier.
